Ant-Man and the Wasp was the 26th best-selling DVD and 13th best-selling Blu-ray. Overall, it was the 15th best-selling movie of 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp debuts at number one in both categories, although failing to crack a million units. Afterwards, it continued to drop until it came back to the number one Blu-ray in its third week. Part of this stems from a lot of competition from other new, big-name releases. This MCU installment also came around Halloween time, where people were busy buying up movies for the season like Hocus Pocus and more.

At the same time, Ant-Man and the Wasp is hardly a huge runaway hit. Yes, it has great reviews and made great money. It’s box office performance is similar, as it dropped after its debut right away. It seems the moment after the film came to theaters and store shelves, people quickly forgot about it and moved on. This is Ant-Man mind you, not Captain America, Iron Man or Spider-Man. Plus, this is a sequel. The first film sold quite well in stores, much similar to the same reasons as Venom. Everyone has to get the first film! Do they really need to get the sequel? Not necessarily. It does say something though when Venom is right on its tail, though.
