10. Has time been broken?

One of the more commonly used plots in comic books is time travel. Sometimes it goes back as far as decades. Other times it’s just a minute or two. A good example was during Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos brought Vision back to life to remove the Mind Stone from his head.

Bam Smack Pow writer Thomas Bacon has a theory that time itself may be broken. He says,

"Doctor Strange gave us a glimpse of the power of the Time Stone. But using it came with dire warnings that there would always be a price for power. Disturbingly, that included the possibility that time itself could be shattered."

In the comics, heroes like Tony Stark and Reed Richards have spoken about how time is a living thing. Abuse it and it can be broken or even die. This is no different in the MCU. One of the reasons that the Time Stone may have been guarded so intensely is because of the negative ramifications of abusing time. Even the Mad Titan Thanos can’t survive time if it’s broken.

This theory was written before Avengers: Infinity War was released, but it’s still a solid idea. What this could mean is that there could be some major changes in the MCU if time needs to be repaired. Trying to restore the time-stream could disrupt history. It could explain how the X-Men and Fantastic Four make it to the MCU. Out of all of these theories, a broken time-stream could be the answer to all the changes coming to the MCU soon.
