Wolverine Origins shows multiple sides of Logan and is a great place for new readers to start.
It may have taken a while, but Wolverine has been one of the most popular characters in comic books for over a decade. His “take no mess” attitude on top of his violent nature made people notice him. While that’s cool to see, it wasn’t until people noticed he was more than just a killer that he became more popular. For example, when Mariko Yashida stopped their marriage, Logan cried. This was one of the first times we had seen Wolverine emotionally hurt. It showed the world he was more than just a guy with a bad attitude and unbreakable claws.
Over the years, there have been a plethora of Wolverine comic books and stories. Some of them have shown how he became the mutant we see today. However, Wolverine Origins does the best job showing the world who Wolverine is and was. Despite the name of the book, this has nothing to do with the movie. Wolverine Origins was written by Daniel Way (who also wrote Deadpool, Bullseye: Greatest Hits, and Ghost Rider). He showed the world some sides of Logan we didn’t know existed. This is the perfect series to show readers why Wolverine is far from overrated (looking at you, Netflix). Here are just a few of the reasons why it’s absolutely worth checking out.
