Jean Grey

The running joke in comics is that no one stays dead. Bucky Barnes’ death was one of the most sacred, and he came back to become Captain America. Jean Grey has died so many times even the X-Men makes jokes about it. Jean Grey dying is the one death that is almost certain because she can always be brought back. The myth of the Phoenix is that it will always rise from the ashes. Jean has done this a ton of times. If she dies in this movie, it would make comic book fans happy, since it happened in the comics. If she doesn’t die, the Phoenix Force was going to overwhelm her and possibly destroy the galaxy. Something that could happen in this movie.

The entire 20th Century Fox universe

It’s no secret that the 20th Century Fox Marvel Comics character will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. With the uncertainty of these movies, who’s to say that they don’t kill off the entire universe with this last movie? While I’m sure that 20th Century Fox doesn’t want to do Disney any favors, this is an easy way to get rid of the universe once and for all. This also shows how powerful Jean Grey is when is possessed by the Phoenix Force.

We’ve seen her destroy entire planets with ease in the comic books. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see her destroy an entire universe. Imagine how the internet would react if that happened in Dark Phoenix? It could be the gutsiest move in comic book movie history, one heck of a way to go out with a bang and say, “Top that, Disney!” Also, it won’t affect Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the slightest. He could be shown dying and still end up in the MCU.
