Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie trailer released

It looks to be a long night in Gotham, as a dangerous alliance spells trouble for the Bat-family and the Turtles with the release of the Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer.

The Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer gives a deeper look into what we should expect from the animated crossover of Batman and the Turtles. While some of it is a bit familiar, there are other aspects that may help to make this movie stand out.

So to get the familiar aspects out-of-the-way, the film seems to have a plot familiar to comic book and superhero fans. A traditional bad guy of one area leaves it to team up with a bad guy in another area, forcing the hero of the former area to chase their bad guy to a new location, only to come in contact with the second area’s hero. After a fight between them, the heroes realize they must join forces and stop their villain’s team-up.

Overall nothing really new in terms of set up, but it does present an interesting background for the film. As in this universe it seems, thanks to the dialogue, that the Turtles exist in the DC universe. Which could prompt some interesting moments and dialogue within the film.

The Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer also provides a good look into the characters personalities. Both Batman and the Turtles have existed through many different incarnations with different character traits, and this movie seems to blend existing ones together.

Character personality and design of the Batman characters looks to be a mix of 2004’s The Batman and 2008’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold. While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seem to be a mix of their 2012 series and current television adaptation, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Except for Shredder, who seems to be a more serious version of the 80’s TMNT adaptation.

The Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer confirms there will be some alliance between Shredder and Ra’s Al Ghul. Though their motives are still unclear it seems part of their plan will involve the release of multiple Gotham city villains, an alliance between their two respective ninja clans, and something involving mutagen, the source of the Turtles transformation into humanoid beings, and the Joker.
