Before becoming a hero, Kate Bishop was attacked and brutally beaten. She decided to learn to defend herself. She trained and eventually became the force we see in the comic books.

She was a Young Avenger for a while but eventually joined Clint Barton (who encouraged Kate to keep the Hawkeye name). The two of them worked together on more than a few missions. As time went on, Kate Bishop more than proved how good she is, so much so that she is the leader of her own team the West Coast Avengers.

In Avengers: Endgame, Clint Barton has abandoned his Hawkeye gimmick in favor of the deadlier Ronin persona. As of now, we don’t know if Clint is going to survive Endgame. Whether he does or doesn’t, Kate Bishop is the perfect replacement. She has all of the skill with an arrow that Clint does. What she provides is a younger Hawkeye and a new face for the MCU.

If Clint survives, he could train her to be his replacement or just working by his side. If he dies, Clint could be shown in flashbacks working with Kate to be his replacement. The MCU’s Clint Barton is aware he’s playing a dangerous game and likes to be prepared. Especially since the Avengers: Endgame trailer dropped and it looks like he is training a new Hawkeye.
