Why this series?
Thor Odinson has been one of the premier Avengers in the comics, as well as the movies. Since his first movie, he’s been a fan favorite. His interactions with his teammates have been amazing throughout, and his naïveté with human culture has been hilarious. Even though he’s been phenomenal in the Avengers movies, his first solo movies left something to be desired. If not for Loki being so good, Thor may not have gotten a chance to do Thor: Ragnarok. Thankfully, that didn’t happen, and Ragnarok proved to be one of if not the most entertaining movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thor is also one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, yet we haven’t seen his true power. While there’s a chance he may die in Avengers: Endgame, there’s also a chance he can revive the fallen Asgardians killed by Hela and later by Thanos. For new readers looking for a series about the God of Thunder to start with, look no further than J. Michael Straczynski’s run. It gives an in-depth description of Thor’s power, his passion for the people of Midgard and Asgard, and how he could be brought back from death in a future movie if he dies.
