Another set photo of the entire cast for season six of Agents of SHIELD has been released, which spilled the beans on who is back.

There was a set photo that was revealed on EW which revealed the entire cast for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 6, including a Phil Coulson doppelganger (Clark Gregg) who happens to not be the former Director of SHIELD we once knew.

Coming off a momentous fifth season, which had intended to be its last on ABC, Agents of SHIELD as you know received a sixth season renewal. Also, back in November, the show was renewed for a seventh season.

Regardless, season 6 was promoted as the last adventure and with the direction that is clearly defined; season 7 may likely be a limited series for the final ride for the SHIELD agents provided ABC and Marvel Television can find a worthy mid-season replacement on their catalogue.

On the set photo, it confirmed in addition to SHIELD mechanic–turned–new Director of the covert intelligence agency, Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie (Henry Simmons), is in possession of Nick Fury’s toolbox, but Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) has returned and Jeff Ward – promoted to series regular – as Deke Shaw also is returning along with the regular cast from season 1-6 such as Daisy “Skye” Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet), Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen). Of course, the not-so-Coulson doppelganger (Gregg) noticeably in the photo is at a distance from May.

As revealed in a trailer for Agents of SHIELD season 6, the former Director, Coulson, at some point had been out of action and ‘died’. Half of the team led by Mack (Simmons) are on Earth while the rest are in deep space in search for a cryo Fitz (Caestecker). The season will take place sometime following the events of Avengers: Endgame. The ABC superhero drama/spy-caper will have Gregg starring as the not-so-Coulson directing the season premiere, executive producer Garry Brown; VFX supervisor Mark Kolpack and Diamond Phillips of Stargate fame also directing on the show.
