Black Lightning: What questions do we have for season 3?
By Mark Lynch
Khalil
Khalil was caught in a very precarious situation. After not having the use of his legs, he was given the option of regaining it, but that meant he’d have to work for Tobias. Khalil agreed, but eventually realized that things aren’t what he thought they’d be. He figured he’d get some powers and break some heads. However, Tobias’ plans aren’t that simple. He wanted Khalil to be his right-hand man, since Tobias’ sister was killed in the first season. When it looked like Khalil wasn’t going to be able to handle it, Tobias set out to kill him. Eventually, Tobias catches up to Khalil and rips the implant out of Khalil’s back, leaving Khalil paralyzed, without powers, and, eventually, dead. Or so we thought.
What’s Next?
In the final episode, we see Khalil in a pod where the metahumans are kept. Jennifer had this idea before he died. This could mean he was brought back to life or the death was a ruse. So what now? How will Jennifer react to Khalil being alive, and will he wake up next season? He has powers and, with some training, he could be an important part in Freeland surviving the Markovian invasion.
