According to Chris Evans at a press conference, it was mentioned that in the film Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers’ arc will close.

Remember a piece on Joe and Anthony Russo about a year back when Avengers 4 was still untitled that the forthcoming ensemble film will close the arc jumpstarted by Captain America: The Winter Soldier? No? Well, its leading star of the patriotic man out of time, Chris Evans, hinted at the speculation of his run as Steve Rogers coming to a conclusion may in fact be true.

As reported via Comicbook.com, during a press conference for Avengers: Endgame, Evans made it clear that Cap’s arc will come to a conclusion. He said:

"“It’s the completion of the arc, that’s safe to say, right?”“This movie does provide kind of an ending to a lot of–”"

Evans was cut off by co-director, Joe Russo, for dramatic effect with a game show SFX before the actor went on to explain a bit further regarding his current status. “There is a 22-film tapestry, you know,” Evans added before following up with “He’s been through so much.” The actor went on to clarify his character may not drop out of the saga.

Whereas Joe back in the fall of last year sent a spanner in the works at the time by commenting that Evans is “not done yet,” We Got This Covered seemed to evaluate that Joe may have meant Evans’ increased affinity for being behind the camera. However, this is just yet more speculation as the source had come from a pundit on Twitter named Jim Hill, who is known to cover among other things such as headlines, reviews, podcast content, also rumors.

The alleged source had seemed to pinpoint Kevin Feige in discussion with Evans about directing a few episodes on some of the limited series for the Disney Plus streaming service. One of the logical episodes to direct is the Falcon and Winter Soldier series in development and the recently announced Hawkeye series. Whether or not Cap meets his end, his legacy will most likely be felt and transpire throughout the MCU.
