How can Marvel Studios make Iron Man’s last hurrah a good one in Avengers: Endgame?

Avengers: Endgame has everyone speculating what’s going to happen to the original Avengers. Most importantly, what’s the fate of Tony Stark? He’s the one who started the momentum going on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Iron Man failed, we wouldn’t be talking about Avengers: Endgame now. Thankfully, it was a popular movie that got everyone excited for the future of Marvel Comics’ movies.

In the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos left Stark on Titan defeated with his armor destroyed. The previews show that he’s back on Earth, makes amends with Steve Rogers, and that him and the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are off to fight Thanos one more time. Everyone assumes that this will be the last time we see Iron Man. If this is true, how can he be written off while giving him the respect he deserves?

Retirement from Iron Man

Everyone thinks that Stark is going to die. I’m not convinced. One answer is simpler than we think.

In the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, Tony Stark and Pepper Potts were discussing their future. Despite what Pepper may think, Tony was going to stop being a superhero. He promised her no more surprises. And then, Dr. Strange and Bruce Banner make a surprise appearance. There was a situation that required his help. Just like that, Stark is Iron Man again and off to another planet to fight someone with godlike power.

It may seem far fetched, but Stark may just hang up his Iron Man armor after this movie. We’ve already seen that he’s discussed retirement with Pepper once. With Peter Parker being his protégé and Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange around to be the world’s new heroes, Stark can comfortably leave the world in the hands of its new heroes. However, just because he’s done as Iron Man, doesn’t mean he’s done with being a hero.

Mentor

As speculated, Tony Stark could be a mentor to Riri Williams as artificial intelligence. Although, a Riri Williams project could be years away from being made. That doesn’t mean that Tony doesn’t have another kid to help along the way. Peter Parker’s Spider-Man costume has a ton of Stark tech in it. In the comics (around the time of Marvel’s Civil War) Tony was Peter’s boss. He gave him a new suit (the Iron Spider suit) and showed him the ropes of how he moves as an owner of a business and a superhero. This could be the case in the future.

Marvel Studios should take their time with the X-Men and keep them separate. dark. Next

If Stark survives, he’s not going to sit around and do nothing. He’s also not going to be comfortable not helping if he can. Iron Man may retire, but Tony Stark’s brain will remain one of the most dangerous things in the MCU. Staying around to help transition Peter into the Avengers. This will give Marvel Studios the option to bring him back if need be. Killing him is permanent, but anyone can come out of retirement.
