She-Hulk may be set to take up the mantle of the most destructive Avenger, but who could play the Hulk’s favorite cousin?

A She-Hulk television series is being heavily rumored for Disney’s streaming service, Disney Plus. Much like the planned series with Hawkeye and Kate Bishop, the purpose of this show is to pass the baton from Bruce Banner to Jennifer Walters, likely signaling a changing of the guard in the Avengers.

However, this also means that Mark Ruffalo is passing the baton to a (hopefully) competent actress. To be replacing possibly the greatest Hulk we have ever seen on screen is a huge deal, and not just any actress can successfully take over from a talent like Ruffalo.

She-Hulk in the MCU has been theorized for some time now, and the added anticipation from fans will certainly raise expectations to an extreme high. With the She-Hulk being one of the most famous characters from the comic books yet to be brought to the big screen, the casting line for Jennifer Walters will be very long, but here are some actresses that could have what it takes to snag the part.

1. Michelle Borth

Michelle Borth captured the hearts of TV fans through her guest appearance on Supernatural and her starring role on Hawaii Five-0, but she has recently dipped her toes into the giant pool of superhero movies as Mary Marvel in Shazam!. Borth showed in her role as Mary Marvel that she can be beautiful, smart, and strong all at the same time, and that is exactly what fans need to see in She-Hulk. She is an actress who is not too big to star in her own series, but just famous enough to be apart of the Avengers. So it seems Michelle Borth may be a serious, unexpected contender for Jennifer Walters.

2. Jessica Biel

When it comes to the consensus fan favorite for She-Hulk, Jessica Biel certainly takes the cake. Fans have been suggesting Biel for this role long before a She-Hulk show was even a concept, and she truly is just perfect for the character.

Biel can pull off the sophisticated and stunning Jennifer Walters with ease, and then transition into the action-packed, strong-willed She-Hulk without breaking a sweat, as she as done in many of her previous action movies. This makes for a recipe for the best possible She-Hulk we may ever see.

3. Eliza Dushku

Eliza Dushku may not be the most famous actress Marvel could get for She-Hulk, but she did lend her voice to the character on Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and several other Marvel animated shows since 2013, meaning that she may be an unlikely frontrunner for Jennifer Walters. Not only has she voiced She-Hulk, but she coincidentally has the perfect look for the character as well. Dushku’s casting could make for the most comic book accurate She-Hulk anyone could hope for, and while she might not be the most famous actress in the world right now, a role as an Avenger could certainly change that.

4. Mary Elizabeth Winstead,

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is set to join the DCEU as Huntress in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and while that may interfere with her joining the MCU, she is still well suited for She-Hulk. Huntress is a much darker character than She-Hulk, but when it comes to action roles and femme fatales, Winstead is an immediate go-to for casting directors. Winstead is a fan favorite actress wo has appeared in many films that people love, so having her play She-Hulk is bound to elevate the entirety of the Marvel Universe.

5. Gina Carano

Hardcore MMA fans should remember Gina Carano for her pioneering run in the Strikeforce and Elite XC promotions, where she fought the likes of Cris Cyborg, Tonya Evinger, and Julie Kedzie, but now she is known primarily for her acting. Carano has been praised for her roles in action films like Deadpool and Fast & Furious 6, but perhaps her most compelling project is the forthcoming Disney Plus show The Mandalorian, where she has a starring role in a highly anticipated Star Wars series.

It is unclear just how important Carano’s character is going to be, but if she can fit it into her schedule, she would be amazing for the She-Hulk series. She has the pure grit and strong presence that fans are expecting to see from Bruce Banner’s female counterpart, and Carano is in such astounding shape that very minimal CGI would be required to transform her from Jennifer Walters to She-Hulk. While people have had their reservations about Carano as an actress, she has more than proven herself in recent years, and she could prove herself even more by embodying the likes of She-Hulk.
