Where’s Blade When They Need Him?

While Kate tries to get some answers from her “undead” mom, the rest of the Avengers take on an entire horde of vampires in red robes. Clint Barton (the original Hawkeye) is using Noh-Varr’s hi-tech bow, as Fuse battles alongside his big sister Ramone, who’s unlocked her own powers via a magical Wakandan ring. Gwenpool is hacking at vampires alongside her mutant “land-shark” pup Jeff, while Kid Omega grows further irritated by both the vampires and using his psychic powers to aid his teammates!

The more Eleanor talks, the less she seems to answer, and the less Kate seems to believe her. While it does appear to be true that her super villain of a father Derek killed Eleanor, she’s arguably become just as bad. She insists she was only trying to disprove the cult’s prophecy about Chavez, not outright feast on her. She vows that she’d only joined Masque to get at Derek from within, out of revenge, and that she wants to be cured of being a vampire. It proves too much for Kate, and she returns to her friends.

Kate may arrive just in time to grab a second alien-bow from Clint and joke with him, but the battle is becoming an endurance test. Even with extra team members, the squad are outnumbered at least three to one. And despite there being archers and skilled warriors on the team, nobody seems to be going for heart-stakes or decapitation attacks — the two proven methods to defeating vampires in Marvel. As such, they are steadily being overwhelmed.
