Cloak and Dagger’s sophomore season continues — and things are more dangerous than ever.

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger has been on the backburner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the release of Avengers: Endgame, but that hasn’t stopped it from being entertaining and dangerous in its own right. This entire season has been on a constant climb towards what is promising to be a surprising climax, and this episode was no different.

In “Alignment Chart,” both Tandy and Tyrone had their respective adventure as usual, but they were both as different as ever. Tyrone managed to get some answers from Conners and ultimately, come out on top, while Tandy fell victim to a human trafficking ring that she has sworn to bring down.

What seemed to be new allies turned into foes, and the overall foe of the series had a change of heart and tried to be an ally. There is quite a bit to take away from this episode, so let’s jump right in!

 Tandy’s New Friend

MARVEL’S CLOAK & DAGGER – “Alignment Chart” – Tyrone is faced with a hard decision when presented with an opportunity to clear his name from an unlikely source. Meanwhile, Tandy is letting her anger get the best of her as she becomes frustrated with a possible dead end to her investigation into the sex trafficking ring. During Tandy’s aforementioned adventure, she met a new acquaintance who seemed to be a helpful source of guidance, yet that new source of guidance tased her in the back. It seems Tandy will now get an inside look at the sex trafficking ring she wants to to bring down, and that will likely provide an answer as to what exactly is happening and why. However, this also gives way to even more questions. Who is this woman? Why would she help these people traffick other women? Perhaps the next episode will provide some clarity.

Tandy wasn’t the only person who found some help this episode, but Tyrone also had an unlikely ally. Conners, the man who murdered his brother and framed Tyrone for killing Fukes had a change of heart and offered his services to Cloak. Of course, everyone is skeptical of this, and for good reason. However, Conners seems genuine. His time spent in isolation made him realize how horrible he really is, so he knows that he deserves to go to prison. Even though he failed to give Tyrone his “get out of jail free card,” he may actually be able to help everyone in the future, and hopefully, his change of heart is permanent.

Questions for the Future

  • Is Conners really a changed man?
  • Who is this new woman who helped kidnap Tandy?
  • Where is Tandy being taken?
  • Will Tyrone ever forgive Conners?
  • Will Conners go to jail, or will Mayhem kill him first?
