10. Hanging Mjolnir on the coat rack

Thor: The Dark World is definitely the least good of the Thor trilogy, but because of its introduction of the Aether, the Reality Stone, it’s very important to the Infinity Saga as a whole.

While this certainly isn’t one of the more visually impressive or action-filled scenes, this is certainly one of the better moments in the film. It’s a fleeting moment played for a laugh, but really, it goes to show that he’s got a way to go.

In all of his time on Midgard, Thor had often found it slightly problematic fitting into Earth society. His Asgardian customs weren’t always the normal thing to do on Earth. He would regularly find himself standing out from the crowd. When he arrives at the flat Erik Selvig is working in, he stops to hang Mjolnir on the coat rack.

Does this mean that the coat hanger is worthy? Probably not (…unless by the transitive property it is). But it does show that Thor still stands out from the crowd. Yes, he’s a big, muscle-bound god with long, flowing hair, but he still at least looks human. He still needs to work on his blending into human society.
