Old Man Rogers and the new Captain America

After Thanos was defeated, the Infinity Stones had to be returned to the time and place from which they were taken. Steve Rogers was up for the task. Cap was sent back in time and didn’t return in the five seconds that Bruce Banner said he would. Shockingly, he appeared before Banner, Sam Wilson and Bucky as an old man. After returning the stones, Steve remained in the past and finally got the dance he wanted from Peggy Carter. During his short conversation with Sam Wilson, Steve told Sam that he should take the shield and see how it feels. Sam was shocked and honored. He was also happy  that one of his closest friends got the happy ending he deserved.

Comic book moment

The Super Soldier Serum in his body was neutralized. This caused Steve Rogers to turn into an old man quickly. It also left a slot open for a new Captain America. This time Steve gave his blessing to Sam Wilson, the man who had been by his side longer than anyone. The best part is no one was shocked. All of his peers were happy he was next in line.

Sam’s time as Captain America in the comics was short lived, and it wasn’t that memorable, either. A lot of the time it felt like Sam Wilson was put in this position as an obligation. Hopefully, this time will be different. Anthony Mackie, who’s currently playing Sam Wilson, has more charisma than Sam Wilson in the comic books. Maybe a show is the best place for him to start his run as Captain America.
