Spider-Man: Far From Home: Multiverse Mysterio has comic book ties
By Mark Lynch
Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Mysterio coming from another universe has ties to a comic book story.
Spider-Man: Far From Home put out another trailer revealing more about the movie. For example, Peter Parker and Happy Hogan are still dealing with what happened in Avengers: Endgame. This leads to questions on what Spider-Man will be going forward. We also find out that Mysterio is working with Nick Fury. Not only that, Mysterio is from another universe (which got Peter excited). We’ve seen characters from a different timeline in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now everyone knows it’s possible in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Mysterio’s intentions seem to be pure. He’s seen trying to stop the monsters attacking. Although, it’s unlikely that he’s the hero we’ve seen in the trailer. It doesn’t help that he was a well-known villain in the comics. There’s one more thing that proves his possible nefarious intentions. Mysterio traveled the multiverse in the comic books as well.
Who is Ultimate Mysterio?
In the comic book series Ultimate Spider-Man, Spidey fought a version of Mysterio. This wasn’t shocking considering there are tons of villains in his timeline that mirror that ones from Earth Prime (Earth 616). However, this Mysterio isn’t from Ultimate Spider-Man’s universe. He’s from Earth 616.
Mysterio found a way to jump from his reality to another. At first, he went in using a disguise to commit his crimes. Since this Earth hadn’t seen him before, it was easier for him to get away and use his tricks. After getting a whooping from Spider-Man, he started sending in drones of himself that he controlled. Now he wouldn’t get hurt. It would have worked if it wasn’t for his Earth’s Peter Parker getting involved and accidentally landing in the Ultimate Universe.

Mysterio accidentally caused Spider-Man prime and Miles Morales to meet up. If not for him, they wouldn’t have the relationship they do today. Miles was actually the one who took down Mysterio. Nick Fury took Mysterio and locked him up in his universe. Mysterio has popped up back in Earth Prime. Most likely due to the events of Marvel’s Secret Wars. Recently, he was also almost killed by Old Man Logan in Dead Man Logan. After escaping, he said he’s retired from being a supervillain, but we all know that isn’t going to last.
