Catwoman crashes a film premiere in Catwoman No. 11

In a chase to save her friend Carlos, Catwoman races down the streets of Villa Hermosa to catch the armored vehicle carrying him.

In the beautiful city of Villa Hermosa, the stars are out in full force. Not the stars in the sky, but the stars of the most popular films. Right now though, Catwoman is barreling toward the premiere in full force without her even realizing it. There’s stopping her on the way to the premiere though, no matter the consequences.

On the other side of the town, Raina Creel is meeting with her son, the hopeful politician-to-be. In doing so, she’s trying to force him to use the little influence that he has in order to help her gain back her power in the city. After he initially refuses to help her, she threatens his life with the help of her other son, who’s essentially a zombie at this point.

Meanwhile, Catwoman rams the armored truck into the premiere and rescues Carlos from the back of the truck. As she makes her way through the crowd, she manhandles several of the people and stars at the premiere in order to aid in her escape. She knocks over a statue to block their escape, before leaving the scene in a police car.

This issue shines the most whenever it focuses on Catwoman’s exploits and her scenes. They’re exciting and heart pounding with well-drawn art. Whenever it moves away from her, the issue isn’t interesting at all and downright bad. Luckily those scenes are less than those featuring Catwoman and it doesn’t drag the issue down completely.

The problem is though, much of forward momentum in the overall plot of the series happens in the non-Catwoman parts of the issue. So. this doesn’t bring down the issue completely, but it does prove bothersome for the series.

Catwoman no. 11 proves exciting when focusing on Selina, but distracting when it focuses on everything else.
