How Many Spider-Men Does It Take to Screw in a Light Bulb?
Spider-Man, or “Second Spider” as he’s apparently called in the Middle East, is reduced to helping a grieving mom change light bulbs out of guilt. Yet as much as Miss Kassem may appreciate the help, she knows that Miles’ place is not alongside her. They bond a bit more talking about the lost Farideh, who was apparently skilled at photography. Having accidentally traded an innocent life to save his best friends — and shattering Kamala in the process — has all but broken Miles, and he feels he has lost the will to be a superhero. At least until he sees some Frost Giants on TV!
Miles rushes back to New York City, but as the Champions know, the Big Apple is overrun with superheroes. Australia is less fortunate, as the Troll hordes have overrun the police and the Australian Defense Force. Ms. Marvel leads her own squad of “Champ” against them — Patriot, Bombshell, Viv Vision, and Dust. The latter appeared in their previous mission at random and has apparently decided to stick around. The distracted and undermanned Kamala seems more than willing to oblige.

Kamala reveals some exposition, which summarizes events from previous issues as well as other titles. Seven Champions founded the team, but most of them have found themselves divided. Ironheart, Amadeus, and Wasp are all busy in their own series. Miles quit the team, while Sam Alexander has shot off into space with one of his enemies in a desperate attempt to regain his Nova powers. Only Viv Vision is left out of that founding class, and the robotic girl is no the easiest shoulder to lean on.
