The Flash will wrap up a wild season 5 after 22 episodes. Focused on the Cicadas and Reverse-Flash, “Legacy” closes the book on the events of the past six months and the cliffhanger that takes viewers into the summer.
After a season of seemingly turning around his personality, Eobard Thawne revealed his true motives: to have Nora destroy Cicada’s dagger in the present so it could not repress his metahuman powers in the future. With it likely gone, Thawne can break out of prison in 2049 and return to his murderous rampage, however he chooses.

Nora was goaded by Thawne throughout the season, and it came back to bite her, including being convinced to use the darker speed force when everything with her parents, Barry and Iris West-Allen, went awry a few episodes ago.
Along with this, the Grace Gibbons version of Cicada remains on the loose. She appeared to be defeated, until the “Legacy” trailer showed her on the loose, trying to kill Central City’s metahumans. This has long been her endgame, so will she succeed in any way in the season finale?
