4. Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Aaron Taylor-Johnson was one of the heavy favorites to star in The Batman but, somehow, he lost out on the part. How and why did this happen? Taylor-Johnson has the more accurate look for Bruce Wayne, is more experienced in action and superhero roles, and is just a flat-out better actor than Robert Pattinson. This was the Batman that we deserved, but perhaps he isn’t the one we need right now.

5. Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Hoult was also heavily rumored to play Bruce Wayne, and it looked as though he would actually star in the film, yet it went to Pattinson. However, Hoult has a much better resume for the character than Robert Pattinson does.

He has become a promising action star because of the X-Men films, as well as Mad Max: Fury Road, and he has shown in his most recent film Tolkien that he can play a charismatic, reserved figure. Standing at 6’3″ and being only 29 years old, Hoult also has a lot of physical advantages to go along with his pristine acting pedigree, and it seems as though getting passed over may have been a mistake for the future of The Batman.
