Parental Meddling Reaches an Intergalactic Scale!

Yet seeing his daughter be whisked off to outer space is not something Mr. Khan is willing to allow. While Ms. Marvel is willing to put aside suspicion if it means a chance at saving an entire planet from destruction, Abu cannot sit idly by without trying to “protect” his daughter, despite being completely out of his element. Things quickly escalate, as Kamala Khan’s status as a super heroine with powers is about as blunt a metaphor for the give and take between parents and teens during puberty that exists.

The issue is narrated by Muneeba Khan, and she remarks on how Kamala always did seem destined for greatness in her own way. As a baby, she gravitated towards danger out of curiosity, and Mrs. Khan wasn’t surprised in the least when Kamala decided to use super powers to help people. Yet she still is Kamala’s mother and would rather she abide by their religious traditions and be less headstrong. Hence, she proposes a compromise — all three of them will head to space!

It’s a compromise that both Abu and Kamala can agree upon — they both hate it! But before the Khan family can hash it out, the Saffan shamans whisk them across the universe via their space magic to their home planet. In no time flat, the Khan family find themselves at an alien banquet, being greeted by the planet’s ruler, the burly Maliq Zeer. Both he and his minions will insist on stating he is the “rightful ruler” of Saffa. He and his allies spend equal parts buttering Kamala up with hiding what seem to be red flags of things that are amiss.
