MCU: Current characters will be important villains in the future

Which current MCU villains will be a big deal in the next phase?
Avengers: Endgame finished of a decade long series of movies, and did it with style. The movie had everything from action to emotional moments to callbacks to our favorite movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But with Thanos dead, the role of the big time villain will have to be filled. Thankfully, there are a plethora of characters that can fill that role.
The role of the antagonist may be more important than the hero. The villain helps make the hero look good by helping them overcome odds that seemed impossible to face. Thanos, Loki, and Dormammu were all villains that looked unbeatable. and this made the heroes’ triumphs look spectacular. A mediocre villain takes away from what could be an amazing story. Whoever the Marvel Cinematic Universe uses next, they’ll have big shoes to fill. Here are some characters that were already introduced who can fill the role of the villain.

Maria Hill
Maria hill hasn’t been used to her full potential. We’ve seen her do some cool things and stand by Nick Fury’s side, but she can be more than that. In the comic books, she’s more than just an Agent of SHIELD and, at one point she was even the head of the organization. Hill doesn’t take any mess from anyone and made it a point to assert her dominance whenever she was tested. We need to see more of this from her in the future.
With everything that’s happened like Thanos turning half the universe into dust, the bombing in Captain America: Civil War, and alien invasions, the U.S. Government may have had enough. There is already a version of the Superhero Registration act in place, and something stricter may be coming. General Ross, who is now Secretary of State, is currently in charge, but Maria Hill should be the one to take over. This was mentioned in a previous article, but Maria Hill may be spying on Nick Fury right under his nose. She would make a phenomenal villain and would be someone you can’t just punch, making it look better when the heroes have to outsmart her. Her rise to power could come from something caused by the person in the next slide.
