Eva Green as Callisto

One of the more iconic arcs in the X-Men comics featured the Warlocks. Their underground hideout was a home for mutants who didn’t look like the X-Men. They are the result of Dark Beast and were forced to live in the sewers.

Their leader was Callisto, the tough as nails mutant skilled in hand-to-hand combat. The Morlocks kidnapped and tortured what they called “surface dwellers.” One of their victims was Angel, whom she kidnapped and debilitated by cutting off his feathers.

The aforementioned events led to a rescue mission led by, Strom who battled Callisto for supremacy. In X-Men: The Last Stand, Fox patronized fans. They allowed Storm and Callisto to battle, but there was nothing on the line. It was a one-off fight that lacked storytelling.

Consequently, Callisto became nothing more than a distant memory in a movie that did nothing for fans. Disney has a great opportunity on their hands. X-Men v. The Morlocks is a story that can lead to something more. It has the potential to carry most of a movie that connects to a larger arc, “The Mutant Massacre.”

Eva Green is an immensely talented actress that can take Callisto to great heights — even in a one-off story.
