Emily Blunt as Mystique

The original X-Men Trilogy disrespected Mystique’s greatness. At least Jennifer Lawrence’s version of Mystique had a great story. However, the best parts about her were left out, so she needs a reboot, maybe even a movie or series of her own — here’s why.

Throughout history, Mystique went by many names and each one with a different story. In the 20s, a young Wolverine joined her pickpocket gang; she would eventually toss his from a train. One of her identities, Leni Zauber, was a detective who ended up mothering a child with Sabretooth.

That child would grow up the mutant-hating human, Graydon Creed, whom she had to kill. As Raven Darkholme, she married a wealthy man, cheated on him and mothered a child with Azazel, Nightcrawler. She was forced to abandon him as a newborn and fled the village.

After she met Destiny, they would adopt and raise Rogue. She also worked for the U.S. as Deputy Director of the Defense Advanced Research Planning Agency. She used the program to fund her terrorist ways including the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

This all leads to one epic battle where her team defeated the Avengers after Rogue absorbs Captain Marvel’s powers. Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place) is the actress to play her.

After the many teases, Blunt can finally take part in a comic book movie.  She’s talented enough to bring out the best parts of Mystique.
