Geraldine Viswanathan
Still an unknown, but one that Ms. Marvel fans view as the favorite for the role when casting starts.
Charisma, it’s the first word I’d use to describe Viswanathan as an actress and she was hilarious alongside John Cena in Blockers. I know I’m taking you guys on a roller coaster ride with my flip-flopping on comedic and dramatic actresses, bare with me.
I am far from the first and won’t be the last person to throw Viswanathan’s name out for this role and it’s because she fits the character of Kamala Khan near perfectly. Her bubbly personality and geekish sensibility are what makes her the strongest candidate.
Trust me, I wanted to bring out my inner casting director and find women that nobody else has thought of, but it would be an injustice to keep her off any list for Ms. Marvel.
Her personality is Kamala, and I think that she could stand on the screen with Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Holland and throw snappy quips at one another, but is she ready to star in her own film and carry the weight of a franchise that will be entangled in something as massive as the MCU?
The potential is there for sure and I think that she’s begun taking on more leading roles since Blockers. Even starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the TBS show Miracle Workers.
Either way, there’s no denying that she is the best fit or the role. If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching this actress at work, please go watch Blockers or sit down and binge Miracle Workers. You won’t get up disappointed.
