Zaira Wasim

Okay, back to dramatic.

Wasim is also very much unknown with all of her work being in India and not only that but there are only two credits to her name. Guess what though? Both those credits won her awards for Best actress.

She won Best Supporting Actress by the National Film Awards or her work in Dengal and was nominated by the Filmfare Awards for Best Female Debut. She was also nominated by Filmfare for Best Actress in her film Secret Superstar; she won the critics choice for best actress for the film, however.

At 18 years old, there is so much ground left for her to cover and I fell in love with her talent as an actress and singer. Just an immensely talented individual that I hope finds her way to this role because she deserves it.

While I think Viswanathan is the perfect fit for Kamala Khan, Wasim is my own personal favorite.

While her work has been mainly dramatic, her charm shines through in not only films but in interviews and you can see her vivacious personality in interviews.

Not only is she a talented human being but at a young age, she has experienced so many struggles in her life. I couldn’t relate to any of it and I won’t try to explain it here, but this is someone with a story that is far from over.

Along with all she has going for her, It doesn’t hurt that her film Dengal, the movie she won best-supporting actress for was a Disney film, so she already has a working relationship with Marvel Studios’ parent company.

I hope that whoever Marvel Studios decides to pick for Khan, they give the talented women working in films in countries like Pakistan and India a fair shot. I think that it is important to try and find talent all over the world and actresses like Zaira Wasim and Lina El Arabi should not remain unknown.
