7. The Multiverse Will Introduce Fox’s X-Men Into The MCU
The MCU has spent the past decade giving us live-action versions of some of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes. However, not all of them have shown up in the revolutionary shared universe as of yet and, more often than not, that usually has something to do with rights. After all, it took Marvel Studios eight long years before they could introduce Spidey himself into the MCU because Sony owned the rights to the character.
One famous bunch of characters yet to make their MCU debut are the beloved group of Mutants known as the X-Men, and this, of course, has to do with the fact that they have spent almost two decades tearing up in the big screen, starring in seven films of their own at rival studio 20th Century FOX.
However, like the Fantastic Four, Disney and Marvel Studios have now managed to obtain the rights to these characters and it’s inevitable that they will end up making their presence in the MCU at some point. That being said, the studio wouldn’t necessarily have to reboot the franchise, and this is where Spider-Man: Far From Home comes in.
With Spidey’s latest adventure introducing the multiverse, fans have been speculating that this will allow Marvel to explain the X-Men’s existence by simply confirming that they exist in another universe. Thinking about it, this is actually rather plausible, as it would allow Marvel Studios to maintain the franchise that Fox started while also crossing it over with their own cinematic universe whenever the characters were needed.
Right now, it’s hard to imagine any other actors taking on the iconic X-Men and, in all honesty, we don’t need another reboot right now. The multiverse is the perfect solution to that problem as Marvel now owns the characters once more and can finish the story that Fox started however they wish to.
