6. Venom Will Be Involved In The Post-Credit Scene

Yes, in a film that will primarily feature one major Spider-Man villain in an apparent heroic role, and a whole lot more in the form of the Elementals, there is also beliefs on the inter-webs that Spider-Man: Far From Home will also feature a sneaky appearance from none other than Venom.

This theory stems from recent reports that Sony is eager for Venom and Spidey to cross paths in the, as of yet, untitled Spider-Man 3. Now, given that Sony technically own the film rights to the character (they were the ones who made a deal with Marvel Studios back in 2015 that would allow the latter to introduce him into the MCU), this could actually end up happening.

Everyone’s favorite Symbiote was the star of his own film last year as Tom Hardy took on the role of Eddie Brock while Venom took on (and obliterated) the box office, becoming one of the year’s biggest surprise hits. That movie, however, was set in Sony’s own Marvel universe and made no reference whatsoever to Spider-Man.

That being said, Venom co-writer Jeff Pinkner would later confirm that there is a Spider-Man in the “Venom-Verse” so, given that Sony owns the film rights to both characters, we could soon discover that Mr. Brock’s world is actually the MCU. If not, Venom’s introduction could also be easily explained by the multiverse.

So where does this all fit into Spider-Man: Far From Home? That’s the interesting part, actually.

As Venom clearly isn’t a part of the storyline, some have speculated the character (or at least a reference to him) will play a role in the post-credits scene, ultimately setting up the sequel showdown that Sony desperately wants and officially introducing Tom Hardy’s sarcastic Symbiote into the MCU.

It sounds crazy, but it would certainly be a creative (and memorable) way of building towards the ever-illusive Phase 4.

All together now: “We are Venom!“.
