13. Silk Will Also Make Her MCU Debut
It might sound like we’re just throwing as many Spider-Man characters at you as we possibly can here but, again, this one doesn’t sound quite as unrealistic when you break it down.
Cindy Moon made her MCU debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming as one of Peter Parker’s classmates at Midtown School of Science and Technology, where she was also one of the more prominent members of the decathlon team.
She would later resurface for a brief cameo in Avengers: Infinity War. And yet, the character has been absent from all of the Spider-Man: Far From Home promotional material, with actress Tiffany Espensen’s name even missing from the official cast list.
While it shouldn’t necessarily come as a shock considering that Cindy hasn’t had all that much to do, this new theory suggests that her apparent absence could be for another reason altogether. Cindy Moon’s Marvel Comics counterpart eventually becomes the superhero known as Silk and, if Reddit user u/LordAyeris is correct, we could see the same thing happen to her MCU iteration.
The theory rightly questions Cindy’s sudden absence, citing how the rest of the decathlon team has returned. It then goes onto suggest that she could have survived Thanos’ snap and, in the five-year gap between Infinity War and Endgame, she too was bitten by a radioactive spider, developing new abilities in the process – eventually leading to Silk showing her face in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Now, you might doubt the validity of the theory based on the absence of such a seemingly minor character but as Sony has reportedly shown interest in developing a Silk spin-off movie, it isn’t all that unlikely.
