11. Norman Osborn Will Make His Presence Felt
Few supervillains evoke as much fear as the Green Goblin.
One of Spider-Man’s most famous enemies, the glider-riding demon was actually the Big Bad in Sam Raimi’s 2000 film Spider-Man where he was portrayed by Willem Dafoe and made life hell for Peter. However, the man behind the mask, Norman Osborn, played an even greater role in the web-slinger’s life and, based on this next theory, he may be about to do just that in the MCU.
With Happy overseeing the movement of the Avengers’ equipment from Avengers Tower in Spider-Man: Homecoming, there has since been a lot of speculation over what’s next for the building. That speculation increased when the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer gave us a brief glimpse of the tower, revealing that it was indeed under construction. So the question is: Who bought it?
Well as Reddit user u/Bman1738 suggests, it’s possible that Norman Osborn now owns the building and that, in the five years between snaps, he rose through the ranks to become one of the Big Apple’s business tycoons (which would explain why he hadn’t been referenced before).
Furthermore, this theory also suggests that he brought his son Harry with him and that, although he is technically younger than Peter, the five year-gap in which Peter was, well, snapped out of existence, would have allowed the young Osborne to catch up to Spidey.
This time-jump has undoubtedly caused a lot of confusion, so we’ll likely get an explanation for all of it in Spider-Man: Far From Home. That being said, it could indeed prove to be a useful way of incorporating the Osborns, reintroducing Avengers Tower as Oscorp and ultimately paving the way for the arrival of the Green Goblin.
Osborn, however, isn’t the only potential buyer of the tower…
