Medusa and Perseus? At Least the Theme Is Consistent!

The sentient car engine, dubbed “Medusa,” has taken control of Perseus’ arm. His zeal to avenge his father has been sated by all the bloodshed, but Medusa has only begun. When John asks “it” to stop, Medusa merges itself to his arm and vows to continue their attack against the Umbrella Academy. It also reveals that John’s father’s suicide wasn’t just an act of despair in Hotel Oblivion; it was an act that Medusa actively encouraged, having grown sick of his remorse.

While Seance is fine with Medusa and Perseus killing each other, Spaceboy gets an idea. He showcases just while their alien headmaster considered him “number one,” as the most useful. He’s decided to take out two villains with one maneuver, and tosses Medusa into Dr. Terminal. It seems Medusa isn’t just an evil, sentient car engine — it’s nuclear powered too! Terminal absorbs it without thinking about his upper limits, and before long the city is covered in his guts!

Unfortunately, taking down Terminal only removed the largest obstacle from the Umbrella Academy. The rest of the super villains have now regrouped around them. And as Number Five groans, he’s out of bullets. And just as the quintet of them are being overwhelmed, a new set of strangers appear. Thankfully, it isn’t more villains, but the members of the “family” that Vanya has met. Their red costumes makes them a mix of The Incredibles with the Doom Patrol!
