8. Justice League (2017)

With a new threat on the horizon, Batman was forced to recruit more heroes to help save the day: Enter the Justice League.

Justice League‘s Batman had a sense of hope thanks to Superman sacrificing himself for humanity. As such, he was understandably different from the version Zack Snyder introduced in Batman v. Superman.

Some parts of Justice League were dark and some were more lighthearted in tone and color with Whedon trying to take what he did in The Avengers and implement it into a world vastly different from the MCU.

The one liners were funny – who can forget Batman’s response of, “I’m rich.”  when Barry asked him what his superpower was? – and the banter throughout the film didn’t hurt at all. However, there were too many cringe worthy moments and it felt like there were too many chefs in the kitchen.

Trying to force Batman into a relationship with Wonder Woman was not well received and the infamously horrid joke from Cyborg after defeating Steppenwolf wasn’t necessary.

It also didn’t help the villain was vague and had no real motive for why he invaded Earth.

Batman was great in the film and those who wanted something a little less brooding got what they wanted. Nevertheless, the movie didn’t live up to expectations with fans are still clamoring for Warner Bros. to release the Snyder cut.
