Matching 50 MCU characters with each of the 50 states
By Mark Lynch
1. General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross – North Dakota
North Dakota joined the union on November 2, 1889 (despite their being some debate on that). One of the coolest things you’ll see while looking up North Dakota is the Enchanted Highway. A highway that stretches over 30 miles.
In 1991, retired schoolteacher and principal Gary Greff started making metal sculptures every few miles on the highway. The “Geese In Flight” sculpture has the world record for the world’s biggest metal sculpture. North Dakota also loves their buffalos. They’re home to the National Buffalo museum as well as the world’s largest buffalo statue. They also made a hamburger that’s 3591-pounds.
North Dakota hides a lot of hidden gems and not just for tourists. According to bls.gov, North Dakota has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country. General Ross is a MCU character who has just as much potential hidden.
General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross played a major part in the MCU behind the curtain. He’s probably the main reason that the Avengers were ordered by the U.S. Government to sign on with them and do as they were told (Captain America: Civil War). Beyond what he’s done, he’s also capable of more. In the comics, General Ross turns himself into a Hulk (the red one) to combat his arch nemesis The Hulk (the green one). It’s only a matter of time before this happens in the MCU.
