25. Captain America – Delaware

Delaware is one of the other states that people often overlook. It doesn’t help that it’s the second smallest state in the union. However, that doesn’t mean this state is insignificant. For example, Delaware was the first state to ratify the constitution on December 7, 1787, by a unanimous vote of 30 to 0.

Delaware can also be attributed for the birthplace of a man whose maneuver has saved countless lives. Henry Heimlich created the abdominal thrusts which more commonly known as the Heimlich Maneuver. In other words, Delaware is not only responsible for being the first state in the Union, but it’s the birthplace of something that’s continues to save lives.

First Avenger, meet the First State.

Before there were Avengers, there was Captain America: The First Avenger. Steve Rogers is the little guy who became bigger than he ever dreamed. He may be the toughest Avenger despite not having a magic hammer or a suit of armor.

Delaware is a tough little state that can be credited with being the first state to start the United States. Just like without Captain America, there would be no Avengers. And just like Henry Heimlich, Steve Rogers has saved countless lives in the MCU.
