26. Loki – Iowa

Iowa was the 29th state to join the union in December 28, 1846 and is called The Hawkeye State (too on the nose to be Clint Barton). Iowa is another state that is full of surprises, you wouldn’t have guessed.

First, it’s become a place for Olympic Gymnast hopefuls to train. Chow’s Gymnastics and Dance Institute has become sought after school since Liang Chow has two Olympic Gold medalist under his belt (Gabby Douglas and Shawn Johnson). It’s also a place where woolly mammoth bones are often found (who would have guessed that last one). You can also thank Otto Frederick Rohwedder for creating the machine that makes slices of bread.

Iowa is full of surprises. The more I looked into the state, the more interesting it became. Iowa is full of wonder and mystery. Sort of like the God of Mischief Loki. Loki has more layers to him than anyone knows. The more we see him, the more interesting he becomes. The development of his character remains one of the best things in the MCU. Loki is usually one step ahead of everyone just like Iowa is with human rights. According to XYZ,

"“When it comes to civil rights, Iowa has always been ahead of the curve. Married women received property rights in 1851, and in 1869, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that women should be allowed to practice law, making Iowan Arabella Mansfield the first female lawyer in the U.S. The state was also way ahead on school desegregation: The Iowa Supreme Court ruled that “separate but equal” schools were unlawful back in 1868, 85 years before Brown v. Board of Education decided the same thing on a federal level in 1954.”"

Not a lot of states can say that they were this ahead of things. Something Iowa should be proud of as Loki is often proud of how his schemes allow him to remain a step ahead of everyone around him.
