3. Alexander Pierce – Utah

Utah was one of the final states to join the Union on January 4, 1896 at 45. Utah is the home to the first electric traffic light in the country and is also home to the Sundance Film Festival that began in August 1978. This the largest independent film festivals in the country and many films featured went on to win Oscars. If you’re an outdoors person, you can visit any of the five beautiful National Parks (Bryce Canyon, Arches, Capitol Reef Canyonlands, and Zion). A no-nonsense state deserves a no-nonsense character.

Alexander Pierce was a great villain in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In fact, he could be considered one of the best in the MCU. Definitely one of the more underrated.

Pierce took his time to do things right and almost succeeded in completing Hydra’s plan. Utah may be known for Mormons, but they’re more than just their religion. They have the “The Greatest Snow on Earth.” It helps that their snowfall hits the slopes just right.

Beyond the National parks, there are a plethora of beautiful waterfalls to see. Utah may not be known as a party. Alexander Pierce may not be the “fun” villain; however, both of them should be considered when the conversation of underrated and underappreciated come up.
