40. Hank Pym – Rhode Island
May 29, 1790, Rhode Island became the 13th state to join the Union. Rhode Island is one of the six states that make up New England. It also is home to the oldest carousel in America: the Flying Horse Carousel, built in 1976 and is still running to this day.
Newport, Rhode Island is the home of the White Horse Tavern. It’s one of the oldest running taverns in the country. Rhode Island remains the smallest state in the country at square miles.
Rhode Island is the smallest state, but it has a ton of heart and random facts about it. Just like the first Ant Man Dr. Hank Pym.
Hank Pym was saving the world after Captain America, but before Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel on Earth. He was in the U.S. military, worked with S.H.I.E.L.D., and eventually left them when he his wife died during a mission and his research was stolen by S.H.I.E.L.D.
Roger William moved to Rumford, Rhode Island after he was kicked out of Massachusetts for his stance on free speech being needed and keeping church and state separate. If you’ve seen the movies you know that Hank Pym isn’t someone who bites his tongue which makes us believe he’d fit in perfectly with Rhode Islanders.
