7. Doctor Strange – Missouri

The Show Me State is known immediately for the Gateway Arch, but Missouri is home for other things as well. St. Louis barbeque is known all over the country as one of the premier flavors. It would be difficult to eat at a place that serves barbecue ribs without St. Louis rub being an option. Missouri also has over 6,000 caves and was also the first places in the United States to host the Summer Olympics. Known then as The Olympiad.

A place called the Show Me State deserves a character that exemplifies that. That man is none other than Dr. Stephen Strange. I doubt there’s anyone in the MCU with more “Show Me” than Stephen Strange.

You want to test him? You have to show him. Stephen Strange isn’t going to waste his time if he doesn’t have to. And why should he. He’s the Sorcerer Supreme and has better things to do with his time.

The Show Me State became my favorite state motto for that reason. Don’t talk about it, show me! Also, if you look at the celebrities that were born here like Maya Angelou and rappers like Nelly (who moved to St. Louis as a teenager), you can see that they produce people who show rather than talk.
