SDCC 2019: The Flash season 6 big bad revealed
After much anticipation, the identity of The Flash’s next major villain has finally been revealed!
The Flash‘s fifth season may have introduced us to the illusive daughter of Barry and Iris, Nora West-Allen, and reintroduced us to the connivingly brilliant Eobard Thawne a.k.a. the Reverse Flash, but its weakest link was undoubtedly its main villain, Cicada.
The veteran superhero show is no stranger to producing strong villains, with the likes of Zoom, Reverse-Flash and to a lesser extent, Savitar, compelling viewers throughout their respective seasons. But Cicada just wasn’t able to improve upon the disappointment of the previous season’s DeVoe.
However, it looks like Barry Allen and Team Flash will be turning their attention to a new villain this season, as it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that actor Sendhill Ramamurthy had been cast as the DC Comics villain Bloodwork.

Bloodwork is a relatively new villain who made his debut in the comics in 2017. His real name is Ramsey Rosso and, after discovering that he was a hemophiliac when he nearly died from blood loss as a child, he devoted himself to experimenting on blood itself in a bid to learn as much about it as possible.
Of course, this was Central City, so it didn’t take long for him to develop new unnerving abilities and, as a result, he could cause others extreme pain by controlling their blood. He also happens to be a gigantic red monster that is undoubtedly the stuff of nightmares.
Whether or not the show decides to venture down the avenue remains to be seen but, either way, Team Flash had better get ready for the fury of Bloodwork. In all likelihood, he’ll make their blood boil.
Ramamurthy is a tenured performer, having appeared in the likes of Heroes and Covert Affairs, so he will undoubtedly have no problem bringing Bloodwork to life. According to Entertainment Weekly, he is set to recur throughout the season.
The Flash returns to The CW for its Season 6 premiere on Tuesday, October 8 at 8:00p.m. ET. Are you excited for what’s to come? Do you like the choice of Bloodwork as a villain? Let us know in the comments below!
