Casting 30 of our favorite Marvel and DC Comics superheroes and villains
By Mark Lynch
6. Poison Ivy
The last time we saw Poison Ivy in a movie was Uma Thurman’s turn in Batman and Robin. The movie itself was bad, but she wasn’t terrible. She had all of the seductive looks and moves that you’d want from Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley. Had the movie gone with a more serious direction, she would have been received better.
The next Poison Ivy has to be able to pull off seduction and switch to aggression quickly. She has to be able to move in a way that entices her victims. Hand movements are also a big part as well. When Poison Ivy is controlling plants it has to look like a maestro directing an orchestra.
Our Dream Casting: Sophie Turner
From what we’ve seen in Game of Thrones and X-Men Dark Phoenix (she was the best part of that movie), Sophie Turner can act in an action movie. She’s also no stranger to playing a villain. In Dark Phoenix, she showed that she can be good at playing dark and intense. She showed that she can be just as sadistic as you’d need her to be.
All of this would be needed to play Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley. We’ve also seen her have a seductive look in her eyes. Something that may seem like a small feat, but a necessary one nonetheless.
