The cast and crew of Agents of SHIELD hit social media to reflect on the show, as the show’s final day of production arrives.
Fans have known for a while now that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is set to end its run after the upcoming seventh season but, now, that reality is really beginning to sink in. Today, the show is completing production on its final season and, to mark the occasion, its cast and crew are reflecting on the comic book TV series.
On the final day of shooting, the official Agents of SHIELD Twitter account shared the news and thanked fans for their support over the years:
Along with this post, members of the crew, including writer Drew Greenberg and visual effects director Mark Kolpak, acknowledged the end of filming:
Of course, the cast also couldn’t let the day go by without sharing their thoughts on the final day. Ming-Na Wen, who plays fan-favorite Agent Melinda May, was particularly emotional about completing work on the series. Meanwhile, Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg, took a stroll down memory lane on Instagram:

In its almost seven-year run, Agents of SHIELD has carved out a place for itself in both superhero and television history. It was the first TV series to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, when it officially ends its run next year, it will be one of the longest-running comic book shows on television.
And the road wasn’t always certain for the MCU’s first attempt at weekly TV. With each year, the show narrowly received a new season renewal from ABC. These pick-ups were due, in no small part, to SHIELD’s devoted fanbase.
Agents of SHIELD will certainly be missed when it ends its run next summer, but it will undoubtedly leave viewers with plenty fond memories for years to come.
