Marvel’s Runaways season 3 will feature a Cloak and Dagger crossover

Marvel’s Runaways will officially crossover with Cloak and Dagger during its upcoming third season.

Marvel Television has found a place in the young adult genre with Runaways and Cloak and Dagger, with both shows finding success on Hulu and Freeform. Fans have long campaigned for the heroes to meet up and, now, that’s going to become a reality.

Marvel and Hulu officially announced that the third season of Runaways will feature a crossover episode with Cloak and Dagger. Both casts shared the announcement in a video recorded on the set of Runaways:

In the past, both series have included Easter eggs from other Marvel TV projects. However, this will be the first proper crossover between two Marvel shows from different platforms. As mentioned, fans have wanted to see the teen heroes cross paths for sometime now. Not only that, but the stars themselves also showed interest. Now, the time is right for the comic book characters to join forces.

Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb also expressed his excitement for the event and finally being able to give the fans what they’ve been asking for:

"“It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at.”"

The season 2 finale of Cloak and Dagger saw Tyrone Johnson (Cloak) and Tandy Bowen (Dagger) leave their homes in New Orleans to travel the country as heroes. This perfectly sets the stage for the crossover, as Tandy and Tyrone can easily make their way to Los Angeles — the home of the Runaways.

One question that remains is what brings everyone together. We know the Runaways will battle Morgan le Fay this season, but will she be the reason for the team-up? Or could there be another force terrorizing LA that causes Cloak and Dagger to step in? Whatever the case it will exciting to finally see these characters together when Marvel’s Runaways returns to Hulu in December.
