MCU: These 10 characters should never be Avengers
By Mark Lynch
Jessica Jones
In the comic books, Jessica Jones was a member of Luke Cage’s Avengers. She joined Wolverine, Spider-Man, Carol Danvers, The Thing, and Bobbi Morse on their missions a couple of times. However, her tenure as an Avenger was short-lived. Once she realized she and Luke being Avengers would put their daughter Danielle in danger, she left the team. She also left Luke because he wouldn’t leave.
Luke eventually quit after realizing that his wife and daughter were more important than what he was doing on the Avengers. Even when Jessica was an Avenger, she didn’t really seem like she wanted to be there, and Iit would probably be the same in the MCU.
It’s unlikely Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones in the MCU (despite being phenomenal as the character). Either way, Jessica Jones doesn’t work as an Avenger. She has a foul mouth, she drinks like a fish, and, like Domino, she needs to be able to move on her own terms.
Plus, when she has a case, she isn’t going to stop what she’s doing to join a mission, especially if there’s someone in danger. It would be nice to have her on the team to balance out the personalities, but Jessica Jones works better solo or with Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist.
