With just one season to go, Agents of SHIELD is prepared to take plenty of risks and swing for the fences in their farewell season!

For years, Agents of SHIELD has managed to narrowly escape the threat of cancellation, overcoming more than a few brushes with television’s grim reaper. With help from its passionate fan base, Agents of SHIELD defied the odds, allowing the show to make it to seven seasons and granting the creative team the ability to go out on their own accord.

With an end game set, the writers have been given the chance to chart a course for the finish line. With nothing to lose and only 13 episodes left following the Season 6 finale, the Agents of SHIELD writers are prepared to go bigger than ever before.

"“For Season 7 we have nothing to lose, so we are swinging for the fences,” executive producer Jeff Bell revealed in speaking with members of the press during San Diego Comic-Con. “I mean, we took some big storytelling risks that we think are very entertaining that we hope people will also find entertaining. Knowing when it’s going to end for real has allowed us to build towards that ending that leaves our characters in a place that we hope will have fans go, that’s cool I appreciate that.”"

While the creative team is prepared to take some big risks in season and push the envelope with the show’s final season, the hope is to also pay tribute to the fans who have stuck around through thick and thin.

"“There’s a lot of respect for the previous hundred and 24 hours. If you’ve stayed with us, there’s going to be a lot of things that resonate. And you’ll be going, ‘Oh look at that.’ That should be fun,” Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb promised."
