Marc Guggenheim has revealed that the final scene of Arrow’s series finale has created a few logisitical hurdles and that the original version of it may not be possible.

Arrow is set to bow out when it returns for its highly-anticipated eighth and final season. However, before actor Stephen Amell pulls down the hood and hangs up the bow for good, he will be taking Oliver Queen on an adventure around multiverse as the Green Arrow sets out to save every earth from the Crisis.

Of course, fans will be intrigued to find out how it all ends and how, following the Crisis, the characters will react to their new normal – whatever that may be.

One thing is for sure that, when the credits do roll on Arrow‘s final episode, it will officially mark the end of an era for The CW, the Arrowverse and superheroes in general.

According to co-executive producer Marc Guggenheim, the show will deliver a “proper series finale” after the crossover. However, he also suggested that the final scene may be a difficult one to shoot. Speaking to TVLine at the Television Critics Association press tour,  he revealed:

"“There are a lot of logistical hurdles that have to be crossed in order to shoot that scene. It’s not like we can just film it tomorrow… The thing that I’ve sort of always told myself about the finale was that I wouldn’t be so rigid about my plan that I wouldn’t leave myself open to other ideas… Had I not left myself open, I wouldn’t have written the scene I wrote, which I really, really like.”"

It certainly sounds like they’re going to do their utmost to pull it off in spite of the issues – which is undoubtedly an admirable outlook – but it’s also interesting to hear that they’re willing to go in a more logistical direction if necessary.

That said, Guggenheim would later address the interview in a tweet, informing fans that if the worst came to the worst and they couldn’t make their original idea for the series finale work, then he’d still share it with the fans.

It’s great that he’s so committed to letting the fans know what the Arrow team currently have planned for the final scene that he’s willing to share it with them even if it doesn’t end up making the cut.

Having said that, the cast and crew of Arrow have pulled off some of the most ambitious and revolutionary feats on TV in the past, so don’t be surprised if they manage to pull it off and get their original finale to air.

Either way, it’s pretty clear that this great team will not “fail this city!”.
