Doctor Light is coming to bring more villainy to Titans season two
By Eric Bartsch
Doctor Light is being introduced in Titans season two and a Walking Dead actor has been cast in the role.
An old enemy of the Teen Titans will make the jump to live-action in the upcoming sophomore season of the DC Universe original action drama Titans. Doctor Light is going to illuminate the villain scene that is already pretty stacked, and the actor playing him has been revealed.
According to ComicBook.com, Michael Mosley, star of Fear the Walking Dead: Passage, will play the part of the Titans’ luminous recurring foe. Mosley is hot off a stint on Ozark for Netflix — a series co-starring and executive produced by Jason Bateman. He is also known for Denis Leary’s USA Network adaptation Sirens and Jennifer Garner’s revenge thriller Peppermint.
Mosley joins Esai Morales, previously cast as Deathstroke, and Iain Glen who is playing Bruce Wayne. Filling out the rest of the new cast members are Joshua Orpin as Superboy, Drew Van Acker as Aqualad, Chelsea T. Zhang as Ravager, and Chella Man as Jericho.

Doctor Light’s origins go back to 1962 and issue No.12 of Justice League of America. Actually named Arthur Light and a real doctor, he can manipulate light and its properties. With that prowess, he turned to crime and has been an antagonist of the JLA and the Titans on numerous occasions.
Light’s associations include the Injustice Gang, the Suicide Squad, and the Black Lanterns. He was revived as a Lantern after Spectre pronounced judgment and temporarily killed him, only to be incinerated by Kimiyo Hoshi. In The New 52, Arthur Light was a scientist at ARGUS who, under Amanda Waller’s watch, got caught in an explosion that gave him his power.
Over the years, Light has alternated between being taken seriously and being comic relief. His most serious and threatening turn came in 2004 when he assaulted the wife of Elongated Man. Zatanna wiped his memory, which reduced him to a minor threat against the Teen Titans for a while. Dr. Light has also appeared on both the original Teen Titans cartoon and Teen Titans Go!.
Titans was the first DC Universe original to be granted a second season. Its production in Toronto was beset by tragedy, in the form of accidental death, but managed to move forward to meet its premiere date.
Titans airs exclusively on DC Universe and is coming back for its follow-up season on September 6th.
