Canadian actress, most commonly known from the defunct series Flashpoint, is confirmed to be in Titans season 2, but could she be playing Blackfire?

There is speculation that a certain actress could be playing an interesting character, which may cause Anna Diop’s Starfire a whole heap of trouble on DC’s Titans this season. Covered by the pop culture site, Full Circle, they report that Canadian actress Oluniké Adeliyi has joined the cast of the DC Universe show.

Adeliyi most recently posted the awesome poster of the promo for Titans on her Instagram account. “Coming Soon!!! So excited and blessed to be apart of this awesome show #Titans #Titanstvseries #dcuniverse #livingthedream,” it said. Best known for Saw 3D and the Canadian series Flashpoint, her other credits are mainly television native to Canada, while others include Being Human, Who Is Simon Miller? and A Christmas Horror Story.

For those who might not be aware, Blackfire has been rumored to make a full appearance on Titans this season. Around the time season one had been airing on DC Universe, TVLine interviewed some of the cast and producers of the show about Kory Anders’ (Diop) backstory, which included her alien origins being explored. When pressed on whether Blackfire would appear, Diop neither confirmed nor denied the possibility.

Long story short, Blackfire did not. Although viewers who tuned in know that Anders, also known as Starfire, is named actually named Koriand’r and is from the planet Tamaran. She was sent to Earth to eliminate Rachel Roth (Teagan Croft) and prevent her from releasing the unworldly force known as Trigon (Seamus Dever), but instead ended up saving Rachel.

Due to Adeliyi’s interaction with fans and liking their comments on the section, it led them to speculate the actress of Jamaican-Nigerian descent could possibly be playing Blackfire. The character is the older sister of Starfire, whose true name is Komand’r of the Tamaran royal family.

She first appeared in the comics in New Teen Titans No.22 and has a grudge against Starfire for her right to lead their race and for all intents and purposes, is her inverse double. What is notable about Blackfire is that, due to a misfit in her genes, she lacked the ability to harness UV rays like her younger sister amongst other natives of Tamaran and underwent experiments to compensate.
