2. Things Will Be At Least A Little Happier

Like we said above, it’s unusual to see Team Flash smiling as they stand shoulder-to-shoulder, but it’s going to happen in “Into The Void”. Now, while you could attribute the glee in one of those photos to the sheer excitement over the new Flash suit, the other joyous photo doesn’t have a clear explanation.

All we see is Barry, leaning against the wall in the hallway of S.T.A.R. Labs (a place usually associated with serious private conversations) as he smiles at whoever it is he’s speaking to. Of course, this is more than likely a reaction to whatever said person actually says, but the fact of the matter is that, in this moment at least, he’s happy.

The last time we saw Barry, he was comforting Iris as the pair of them tearfully watched Nora’s farewell message to her parents, and we couldn’t help but feel for them, knowing what they had lost. Thus, while it’s clear that Nora’s disappearance from existence impacted them a great deal, it appears that the time jump between Seasons 5 and 6 will indeed allow them to begin the healing process.

So, yes, it’s not a major point, but it is one that’s worth noting. Barry seems happy and it goes without saying that both he and Iris deserve to be.
