15. Juggernaut

Due to his hatred for his step brother Charles Xavier, Cain Marko has been a thorn in the X-Men’s sides since the beginning. One of the things that makes him such a destructive force is that once he’s in motion, nothing can stop him. Which is why he always says, “Nothing stops the Juggernaut.” That’s on top of his strength that’s almost on the Hulk’s level. Juggernaut may have battled the X-Men for decades, but he’s also been a member of their team. I’d go as far to say that his time as a hero was better than his time as a villain.

While on their team, Cain developed a big brother relationship with a young boy named Sammy Paré. They both got something out of this relationship. Juggernaut became more aware of his feelings and Sammy gained a big brother. Someone he could talk to. When Sammy died, Juggernaut was distraught. Seeing Juggernaut cry as his friend was ripped apart was brutal. This was one of the few times we saw Cain Marko showed emotions like this.

Marcko eventually went back to a life of crime, but he did join the X-Men again in Matt Rosenberg’s run (bringing his name up a lot here). Another other good thing about Juggernaut is that he doesn’t just have to be an X-Men antagonist. He’s gone up against Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Deadpool.
